LGBTQ+ Rally

Rally for LGBTQ+ Protections this Sunday, February 6th 11:00 AM at Selby Five Points Park. This event is being organized by Lorne Sadler, Project Pride SRQ and Amanda LaForge, Equality Florida volunteer to unite the community against anti LGBTQ+ bills being passed in Florida.

We will be speaking out against these bills:

- “Don't Say Gay” bill (HB 1557/SB 1834) is quickly moving through legislative committees. This dangerous bill blocks teachers from talking about LGBTQ issues or people and undermines existing protections for LGBTQ kids in schools. - Trans Youth Medical Care Ban (HB211)These blanket bans attempt to imprison healthcare providers for providing best-practice medical care to transgender youth, criminalize them for practicing their profession. - Healthcare Refusal Bill (HB 747) has passed its first committee in the Florida House. This legislation would allow healthcare providers and insurers to refuse to provide or pay for care that conflicts with their beliefs - “Stop WOKE Act” bill (HB 7/SB 148) would censor workplaces and schools from teaching honest LGBTQ history, Black history, the root causes of injustice and discrimination and more.
