The festival was formerly known as Sarasota Pride but has been rebranded as the celebration now also encompasses the former Manatee Pride event as well.

 

This family-friendly, free event is open to all; sponsorship opportunities are available.

The mission of Project Pride SRQ is to expand awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community by creating strategic partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and governments toward a shared goal. 

 

Since our nonprofit incorporation in 2019, we have celebrated and united Sarasota’s diverse community by providing social connection and supporting Sarasota’s LGBTQ+ people, businesses, and organizations.

Our Work

 

Project Pride’s vision is to establish an all-inclusive community where everyone is equally united, supported, and celebrated – regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. 

 

Making connections, building community, and providing outlets for the LGBTQ+ community 

  • Gulfcoast Pride(Sarasota & Manatee Pride) 

  • Silver Pride 

  • Grand Carnival 

  • Disco Brunch 

  • Sober Socials 

  • Partnering with and supporting LGBTQ+ sports leagues 

  • Partnering with local business to increase LGBTQ+ visibility 

  • Building relationships with the City of Sarasota to increase
    LGBTQ+ visibility, including the downtown Pride Crosswalk
    Activating the LGBTQ+ Community 

  • Attending and Speaking at School Board Meetings 

  • Attending and speaking at houses of worship 

  • Partnering with organizations to increase voter participation 

  • Supporting other LGBTQ+ organizations by promoting and
    attending their activities

Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community 

  • Providing space for support groups to meet

  • Providing space for PPSRQ events (SoberSocials,Volunteer
    Meetings, Board Meetings) 

  • Providing Grants to support other organizations and events 

  • Providing scholarships to support youth as they transition
    into higher education 

  • Partnering with the City of Sarasota to establish an HRC
    Municipal Equality Index score 


Project Pride SRQ “Pride Headquarters”

  • Used as the support hub for Sarasota Pride (Oct2023) 

  • Opened to Public(Jan2024) 

  • Used for Sober Social and Volunteer Kickoff (Feb2024) 

  • Actively used by ProjectPride and other groups for meetings
