Justyn Hunter-Ceruti to serve as interim executive director effective May 4, 2026, as Jessica Maxon-Berrier assumes the role of board president.
A Leadership Transition Rooted in Service.
The Project Pride SRQ Board of Directors is pleased to share an important leadership update for the organization. Effective May 4, 2026, Justyn Hunter-Ceruti will serve as interim executive director. At that time, he will step back from his current role as board president, and board member Jessica Maxon-Berrier will assume the role of board president.
This transition reflects a thoughtful next chapter for Project Pride SRQ as the organization continues building on its mission, partnerships, and commitment to strengthening and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community across the Sarasota-Manatee region.
Hunter-Ceruti has been engaged in the interim role through December 31, 2026. He first became involved with Project Pride SRQ as a volunteer in 2022, joined the board of directors in 2023, and has since served in key leadership roles, including on the executive committee and as board president. During his time with the organization, he has helped support strategic planning, governance development, fundraising, partnership-building, and operational strengthening.
A member of the LGBTQ+ community, Hunter-Ceruti has also been actively involved in the Sarasota community since moving to the area five years ago. He lives locally with his husband and family and brings both a personal commitment and professional perspective to the organization’s next chapter.
“Justyn brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to leadership and a genuine commitment to the community Project Pride SRQ serves. His history with the organization, combined with his steady and collaborative style, positions him well to help guide Project Pride SRQ forward.” - Jessica Maxon-Berrier
“I’m honored to step into this role at an important moment for Project Pride SRQ. I care deeply about this organization, its mission, and the community it serves.” - Justyn Hunter-Ceruti
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, Project Pride SRQ will continue to build community through coalition-building, business networking, strategic partnerships, arts and culture collaboration, and inclusive programming that creates meaningful opportunities for connection, visibility, and belonging across the Sarasota-Manatee region.
The Board of Directors is grateful for the momentum carrying the organization forward and looks ahead with excitement to what is next, including Silver Pride on June 6 at Senior Friendship Center and other opportunities to gather, connect, and celebrate community.
