Project Pride SRQ was proud to partner with Senior Friendship Centers to present Silver Pride 2026: Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Future on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Held at Senior Friendship Centers in Sarasota, Silver Pride brought together LGBTQ+ older adults, allies, caregivers, families, performers, community partners, and supporters for an afternoon rooted in visibility, joy, reflection, and belonging.
This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Future,” reflected the heart of the event: recognizing the wisdom, resilience, leadership, and legacy of LGBTQ+ older adults while continuing to build a more connected and affirming future across generations.
The afternoon featured community partner and vendor tables, live entertainment, dancing, food and beverage options, and meaningful moments of connection. Guests also took part in Aging Out Loud: LGBTQ+ Life, Legacy, and Belonging Across Generations, a panel conversation centered on identity, aging, chosen family, caregiving, visibility, affirming care, and the importance of safe and welcoming spaces.
Silver Pride also celebrated the creativity and talent of our community through performances by Dame Lindsey Carlton Cline, Azara Ballet, Diversity Voices Choir, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, Dingbat Theatre Project, Tap Kats, and more. A Legacy Couple Tribute added a special moment of love, recognition, and celebration to the afternoon.
